We use actions and activities, not lectures. This allows us to get to the real and deeper problem and deeper solution. Non-strenuous exercise in this natural setting is one of our many actions and activities. Non-strenuous exercise in this natural setting is very beneficial to the recovery process. This allows our clients to discover their deeper problems and solutions. Our facility is across the street from Radnor Lake State Park. As their website states:
“Radnor Lake State Park is a 1,332-acre park and is protected as a Class II Natural Area. It is unique due to the abundance of wildlife viewing opportunities, environmental education programs, hiking opportunities and its location in an urban area. The park is day-use only and the more than six miles of trail are strictly used for hiking, photography and wildlife observation… ”
“The park is perfect for nature enthusiasts to observe owls, herons, and water fowl as well as many species of amphibians, reptiles and mammals such as mink and otter. Hundreds of species of wildflowers, mosses, fungi, ferns and other plants as well as trees, shrubs and vines add to the natural ecological diversity of the area.”
The brochure below do not include recent land acquisitions that increase this wildlife preserve to 1,300 acres. It is within Nashville’s city limits and right across the street from our facility. Some mornings your loved one will wake to see deer and wild turkey sleeping in our facility’s front yard.
We do a meditation walk on the paved trails from the park entrance several times a week. The view from the trail around the lake is shown above. The color spectrum in the best photo or oil painting cannot compare to the color spectrum that we see during this walking meditation. This is great exercise and very relaxing. We can use their meeting rooms and shelters for meetings. Your loved-one will like this.
Yet our facility is also three minutes (less than one-half mile) from a Nashville Interstate exit so it is very convenient for us to participate in the local recovery meetings. Click here for a copy of their brochure.
